Hope DMK does not break ties: Azad
March 5th, 2011 - 4:46 pm ICT by IANSJammu, March 5 (IANS) Union Health Minister and Congress-in-charge of Tamil Nadu Ghulam Nabi Azad Saturday said talks were on with the DMK on seat sharing in Tamil Nadu and hoped “they don’t break ties”.
“I was there (in Tamil Nadu) holding talks on the identification of the constituencies,” Azad told reporters here, adding he hoped “they don’t break ties”.
The DMK-Congress seat sharing talks for the Tamil Nadu assembly elections have hit a roadblock, with the Congress demanding it wants to contest from more constituencies.
Karunanidhi midnight Friday issued a statement in Chennai that the party would decide Saturday whether or not to ally with the Congress. The DMK called the Congress demand “unjustified”.
“Is it practical for the Congress to demand 63 seats and expect them to be given?” Karunanidhi asked.
