Manmohan Singh On Board Air India One, Oct 30 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said Saturday that the home ministry was looking into Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee’s complaints that central forces were being misused in Maoist-affected areas in West Bengal.

“I am aware of those complaints. The home ministry is looking into it,” the prime minister said on his way back from a tour of Japan, Malaysia and Vietnam.

Banerjee, Trinamool Congress chief and a key ally of the ruling Congress, has threatened to take to the streets if the central forces are not withdrawn from Maoist-affected areas of the Left-ruled state where assembly elections are due next year.
