Himachal Congress to protest scrapping of tribunalJuly 16th, 2008 - 9:22 pm ICT by IANS
Shimla, July 16 (IANS) The Congress in Himachal Pradesh Wednesday said it would soon launch a statewide protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government’s decision to abolish a tribunal that redresses complaints of state government employees. “The party would not only stage protests but also explore legal options to nail the government,” state party president Kaul Singh Thakur told reporters here Wednesday.
Thakur accused Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal of “fooling” people because he had said the central government had decided to scrap the tribunal.
The state government had earlier this week announced that “the administrative tribunal stands abolished from July 8″.
