Himachal chief minister mourns Prabha Rau’s death
April 26th, 2010 - 6:11 pm ICT by IANSShimla, April 26 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal Monday expressed grief over the death of Rajasthan Governor Prabha Rau.
Rau, 74, passed away at a New Delhi hospital Monday after she suffered cardiac arrest at the Jodhpur House guesthouse here. She was a former governor of Himachal Pradesh.
“We are in deep sorrow over the untimely death of Prabha Rau. I spoke to her family members to express grief to them. We pray to god to give peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss,” Dhumal told IANS.
An official said she slipped in the toilet and was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) around 11 a.m. Doctors pronounced her dead at about 12.30 p.m.
Rau, a former Maharashtra minister, is survived by two daughters.
