Hillary Clinton to travel to Europe for meetings

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) – U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will travel to London, Dublin, Belfast, and Moscow later this month, her office said on Friday.

The trip will take place between October 9 and 15. In London and Dublin, Secretary Clinton will engage in a series of discussions on a wide range of bilateral, transatlantic, and global issues, her office said.

In Belfast, the Secretary is to emphasize the U.S. commitment to the joint economic prosperity of Northern Ireland and the United States, as well as reaffirming unwavering U.S. support for Northern Ireland’s peace process.

In Moscow, Clinton will meet with senior Russian officials to discuss progress on a follow-up agreement to the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START). She will also talk about cooperation on nonproliferation and counterterrorism, and the next steps for the Clinton-Lavrov commission.
