Washington, Mar 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A stand is finally going to be taken on the health care reform bill that has been in the pending stage for many days now. Ever since President Barack Obama took the office the year before last, the Democrats, under his leadership, have been pushing for the passing of the bill. However, the bill kept facing a huge amount of protests from all quarters, especially from the Republicans, who maintained that a government takeover of the health care system of the country would only bode ill. However, finally, the House Democrats have declared that they would be passing the bill on Sunday.
The health care reform bill is all set to make history, as this is going to be the first time, since Medicare was formulated, that the health care of the nation is going to undergo such widespread transformation. The constitutional changes that are going to be brought about by the health care reform bill are monumental. The voting for the bill is going to begin on the afternoon of Sunday, and after it is over, yet another voting is scheduled to be held with the aim of amending some of the provisions in the legislation.
The decision to pass the bill was made after President Barack Obama delivered a speech that manged to turn around several of the key lawmakers, nullifying the claims of the Republicans that the Democrats are exploiting the rules of the House in order to pass the health care reform bill, even as protesters of the Dallas Tea Party carried on their chant of “kill the bill” on Capitol Hill.
