Hillary Clinton Situation Room Washington DC, May 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Hasidic newspaper Der Zeitung has explained the reason why they photoshopped Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and National Security team member Audrey Tomason from the iconic photograph in the Situation Room.

When the newspaper first published the picture, criticism emerged because of the omission of Clinton. Several reasons were assigned to why the Jewish newspaper chose to remove her from the final picture.

The newspaper apologized for removing the image of Clinton from the picture. The newspaper however explained that it is against the religious beliefs of the Jewish community to publish the image of a woman.

The newspaper apologized that, “Because of laws of modesty, we are not allowed to publish pictures of women, and we regret if this gives an impression of disparaging to women, which is certainly never our intention. We apologize if this was seen as offensive.”

The newspaper however denied allegations that their decision not to publish the image was based on malicious intent. The newspaper assured their respect for women and all government officials.

President Obama and some top government officials watched proceedings in the Situation Room as Navy SEALs stormed Osama bin Laden’s compound.
