Washington, May 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The world known that Elizabeth Birnbaum is no longer in office. Following the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico, the head of the Minerals Management Service has not been seen in the White House? So what is the reason behind her sudden departure? With the press abuzz with the idea that she was sacked from her post, it is now left to President Barack Obama to answer all questions. However the President seems to be tight lipped on the matter.
Elizabeth Birnbaum’s sudden non-presence in the White House administration has raised questions about the fact as to whether she was “fired” or she herself submitted her “resignation”. With the President not giving any explanation, it has aroused more questions in the press. Barack Obama says that he was not even aware of the fact that Elizabeth Birnbaum was out of office, so naturally he also cannot give an answer to the question what led her to move out so suddenly.
The President has taken full responsibility for what occurred in the Gulf of Mexico, but that has not quietened the press. The fact that Elizabeth Birnbaum has not submitted any resignmation letter to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar has added fuel to fire. The Interior Secretary has supposedly referred to Elizabeth Birnbaum as a “strong leader”, so why has she been thrown out of office? There is no end to the speculations and on top of this comparisons are now being made between the George Bush and Barack Obama administrations. It is being said that the former President handled the Katrina crisis more smartly. The US political is surely in a mess.
