Haryana has five lakh new voters
January 22nd, 2011 - 2:38 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, Jan 22 (IANS) Haryana has added close to five lakh new voters to its electoral lists, taking the total number to some 13 lakh, an official said Saturday.
As per the final voter list published Jan 5, the number of voters have increased by 491,443 in the state.
“Now there are 13,249,421 voters in Haryana. Of these, 6,038,267 are women and the rest 7,211,154 are male voters,” Haryana’s Chief Electoral Officer Sumita Misra said.
Mishra said that photo-electoral rolls of all the 90 assembly constituencies of Haryana have been prepared with Jan 1 as qualifying date.
The highest number of 76,714 new voters has been added from Faridabad. Haryana last held its assembly elections in October 2009.
