Chandigarh, July 2 (IANS) A privileges committee of the Haryana assembly Wednesday recommended that former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala be admonished by the house for showing disrespect to the speaker and also to the house panel itself. The recommendation was made Wednesday after Chautala, who appeared before teh committee for a breach of privilege motion against him, got into arguments with the committee members and left the hearing in a huff.

The motion was moved against Chautala for showing disrespect to assembly speaker Raghubir Singh Kadian earlier this year during an assembly session.

The privileges committee is headed by Congress legislator Karan Singh Dalal.

Sources in the committee said the panel recommended that Chautala be admonished by the house for his act of disrespect.

The panel also objected to Chautala not responding to earlier summons to appear before it.
