Harry Reid’s Son Skips Last Name In Campaign For Nevada Governor

Las Vegas, June 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rory Reid, the son of the U.S. senate majority leader Harry Reid is the Democratic candidate in the race of Nevada’s governor. However, the election campaign of the Clark County Commission Chairman is grabbing many eyeballs due to Rory Reid’s decision to stay away from the family name after none of his campaign initiatives gives any hint about he being the son of one of the most powerful political figures in the country.
Voters who do not know Rory Reid well might not be able to comprehend that he is the son Harry Reid as his campaign banners read “Rory 2010″ while in the campaign releases, he is referred to as just Rory. At the same time, his first television advertisement “Paid for by Rory 2010″ in no way highlights his family name while his biography on his own online portal does not gives any details about Harry Reid. While talking to a leading news source, Rory Reid revealed that people already have an opinion about his father but they have to form an opinion about him, which is the main aim of the campaign. However, it still remains unclear whether the father-son duo would be campaigning together prior to the elections that are scheduled to take place on November although till now they have avoided making appearances jointly.
Meanwhile, it is being speculated by many that Rory Reid took the decision to keep a distance from his family name after the senior Reid is said to be confronting negative ratings among the Nevada voters in the wake of the rising rates of unemployment as well as high rates of foreclosures and bankruptcies.
