On board PM’s Special Aircraft, April 16 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Saturday described his five-day two-nation visit to China and Kazakhstan as “fruitful”.
“I had two fruitful meetings,” Manmohan Singh told reporters about his engagements in the two countries.
In China, the prime minister met President Hu Jintao and also attended the 3rd BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit.
The prime minister also met presidents of Brazil, Russia and South Africa separately to discuss bilateral issues.
In Kazakhstan, he had meetings with President Nursultan Nazarbayev, the prime minister and other ministers of the energy rich Central Asian country.
India and Kazakhstan signed seven agreements. These included a civil nuclear accord and an agreement under which India’s ONGC Videsh Ltd got 25 percent stake in Satpayev oil exploration block in the Caspian Sea.
The prime minister and his wife Gursharan Kaur late Saturday evening returned home after a five-day trip to China and Kazakhstan.
