Gunmen attack former MP, 2 security men killed
October 13th, 2009 - 10:13 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Oct 13 (IANS) Two security men accompanying former MP and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Orissa unit president Sudam Marandi were killed Tuesday when they were attacked by unidentified armed men in Orissa’s Mayurbhanj district, police said. Marandi, though had a narrow escape.
Marandi was attacked while on his way to a football match in Chandua police station area in Mayurbhanj district.
“We got the information a few minutes back. Marandi along with some security men was going for a football match as he was invited as the chief guest. They were attacked on their way. From the initial information coming in, two security men have been killed,” said Sandhyarani Beuria, officer-in-charge of Chandua police station.
