Gujarat to celebrate its golden jubilee May 1

Ahmedabad, April 23 (IANS) Gujarat will celebrate “Swarnim Gujarat” to mark the 50th anniversary of its founding May 1, Chief Minister Narendra Modi said here Friday.
He said a series of programmes have been lined up for April 30 and May 1 to mark the occasion, which will attract a large number of Non-Resident Gujaratis (NRGs).
All former chief ministers, ministers, members of parliament and the legislative assembly have been invited.
Former deputy prime minister L.K. Advani, who represents Gandhinagar in the Lok Sabha, and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley will be present at the main function at Sardar Patel Stadium here May 1.
