Gandhinagar, Aug 30 (IANS) Former Gujarat minister of state for home Gordhan Jhadapia here Tuesday said that there was a larger conspiracy behind the killing of the former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and minister of state for home Haren Pandya, whose alleged killers were acquitted a day earlier.
The former BJP minister who rebelled against Chief Minister Narendra Modi and now heads regional outfit Mahagujarat Janata Party said that the Central Bureau of Investigation had carried out the bulk of the investigation during the National Democratic Alliance rule when BJP leader L.K. Advani was the union home minister.
“The investigations seem to have been willfully taken in a wrong direction but the question is why. There is every reason to believe that there was a larger conspiracy and there is an urgent need to unravel it,” he added.
He attacked the state government for lack of will in investigating the case.
Jhadapia also released a letter in which the father of Pandya alleged that the murder was a political conspiracy and the CBI did not probe the murder “with professional ethics”.
