Guatemala mayor shot dead

Otto Rene Garcia, 39, was elected mayor of Siquinala town in southern Guatemala. He was a member of the main opposition right-wing Patriot Party.
Media reports said Garcia was shot after he boarded his motorcycle for the drive to the Siquinala town hall.
“The assailants were apparently waiting outside his home. He received four shots,” a police officer told EFE.
