Governor Sinha’s last public engagement likely Thursday

Jammu, June 10 (IANS) Lt. Gen. (Retd) S.K. Sinha will attend a function organised by the army in Reasi area of Jammu and Kashmir Thursday, which is likely to be his last public engagement as the state governor. No other public engagement has been listed on his appointment calendar, officials said.

Former home secretary N.N. Vohra is tipped to be the next state governor.

The annual Amarnath pilgrimage is to start June 18 and the governor, as ex-officio chairman of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, is the first to offer prayers at the cave shrine. This year, Sinha may not be holding the governor’s post till then.
