Government’s intentions on Lokpal dishonest: Hazare

Ralegan Sidhi (Maharashtra), Dec 20 (IANS) Social activist Anna Hazare Tuesday accused the government of being “dishonest” on the Lokpal bill, saying its intentions were not clear and declared he would go on a three-day fast from Dec 27.
“Their (central government) intention is not clear. They think that they are betraying Anna Hazare but in fact they are betraying the people who are fed up with corruption,” Hazare said.
Hazare accused the government of going back on the unanimous resolution on the sense of parliament on his demands on the Lokpal bill.
It is “very clear that their intentions are not honest”, the civil society leader said.
He said there would also be a “jail-bharo” agitation throughout the country Dec 30-31.
He lauded the Uttarkhand government for enacting a good Lokayukta law.
