Anna Hazare Ralegan Sidhi (Maharashtra), Dec 20 (IANS) Anna Hazare Tuesday accused the government of being “dishonest” on the Lokpal bill, saying its intentions were not clear and declared he would go on a three-day fast from Dec 27.

“Their (central government) intention is not clear. They think that they are betraying Anna Hazare but in fact they are betraying the people who are fed up with corruption,” he said.

Hazare accused the government of going back on the unanimous resolution conveying the sense of parliament on his demands on the Lokpal bill.

It is “very clear that their intentions are not honest”, the civil society leader said. He said that Uttrakhand government has passed an excellent Lokayukta Bill but the same was not being accepted by the central government, clearly pointing out that their intentions are suspect.

He said there would be the “jail-bharo” agitation throughout the country Dec 30-31.

Accusing the government of not being able to see the difficulties being faced by the people, Hazare said: “One say people will teach you (government) a lesson.”

He slammed the government for going back on the unanimous resolution by the parliament conveying the sense of the house. “Now they are going back on what they had said and revisiting everything including the Citizen’s Charter,” Hazare said.

In this context he referred to the letter he received from the prime minister when he was leading an agitation at Ramlila Ground.

Restating his resolved to wage a relentless battle for a strong Jan Lokpal Bill, Hazare said that he would continue waging the battle till his last breath. “So long I have life in me I will continue fighting,” he said.
