Government should bring new Lokpal bill: Shanti Bhushan
August 18th, 2011 - 9:12 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 18 (IANS) Urging the government to draft a new Lokpal bill after consulting Anna Hazare, former law minister Shanti Bhushan Thursday said the fact that the government agreed to the Gandhian’s demands shows that Team Anna was always reasonable.
“I am very happy that ultimately good sense has prevailed in the government and it has allowed Anna to fast for 15 days and that shows Anna was never unreasonable in his demands,” Bhushan told reporters here.
According to Bhushan, a Team Anna member, the draft put forward by the civil society group was constitutional. “I can certify that the draft is constitutional and I think it would be wise for the government to withdraw the bill from parliament and move a fresh bill after talking to Anna,” he said.
