New Delhi, Dec 30 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Thursday said the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government has lost its right to continue in office after it did not not agree to the opposition’s demand for voting on the Lokpal bill in the Rajya Sabha.
“The government running away as it is in a hopeless minority… If a government runs away from parliament, it does not have a right to continue in office for a minute,” Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley said, minutes before the house was adjourned sine die.
Jaitley had urged Chairman Hamid Ansari to let the house decide how long it wants to sit.
“My last appeal to you - this house will decide how long it will sit. The government will not decide,” he said.
