Nov 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After 2010 US election votes are tallied, it seems that the Republican Party will hold the majority of seats in the elections and in the US House of Representatives, whereas the Democrats have retained their majority in the Senates. John Boehner, a republican from Ohio, is expected to became the speaker of the house and if he gets the post GOP’s “Pledge To America” will take a center stage. Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour said that he would be the perfect choice for as “speaker-elect”.
The Republicans, led by John Boehner have put out a 21 page “Pledge to America” written by California Representative Kevin McCarthy and it promises making Government more accountable and it also promises ‘rein in spending’. John Boehner said that everybody had been in elections for better part of nine months and after having a look at the “races” of the country, he feels that Republicans have a real opportunity to win the majority. He also said that he hopes his colleagues will elect him as the speaker of United States.
John Boehner and his party has also promised that they would unravel new health laws and look into other welfare factors of the state. Republican Representative Eric Cantor is also expected to be the majority leader released a “Pledge to America” including many policy themes which would permanently kill all job killing “tax-hikes”. However, his pledge is criticized by many other Democrats and tea-party supporters and as they feel that GOP has no solution of its own. John Boehner became emotional when it was said that he would be the next speaker if he wins majority, he said that he spent his life trying to chase his “American dream” and now it seems that his dream will become a reality.
