Gillard may leave Melbourne home for security reasons
September 12th, 2010 - 5:49 pm ICT by IANSMelbourne, Sep 12 (IANS) Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard said Sunday she may have to leave her home in Melbourne for security reasons.
Gillard, who bought the house in the working-class suburb of Altona a few years ago, lives there with partner Tim Mathieson, the Sydney Morning Herald reported Sunday.
She continued to stay there during and after the election in the country when she was in Melbourne.
“There are security and other issues,” Gillard told ABC Television.
“I’m staying in my home in Altona and I very much enjoy that, but I suspect that there are some friends who deal with prime ministerial security who would wish for a different result.”
