Gilani meets minister who wept while quitting

Islamabad, Dec 27 (IANS) Yousuf Raza Gilani Monday met Information and Broadcasting Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan who had cried while announcing that she was quitting. The prime minister had turned down her resignation.
A tearful Awan had announced her resignation during a televised cabinet meeting Sunday morning, saying: “I endorse your leadership (but) I think I am not competent enough to continue as cabinet member and hence submit my resignation.”
Gilani Monday directed Awan to evolve a strategy to showcase achievements of the government, reported Associated Press of Pakistan.
He also called for projection of development work undertaken during three and a half years involving funds worth Rs.1.5 trillion.
