Oct 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) George Soros, who was suspected of financing Media Matters by conservatives, has donated $1 million to the group. However, Media Matters has always maintained that they never received any financial backing from George Soros. As per them, this is the first time that they have received any donation or funding from George Soros. George Soros addressing on the issue said that contrary to what Fox news has been saying, he has never financed Media Matters before. The reason for him financing the group now is that, they are one of the few media watchdogs who attempt to hold Fox news accountable for their actions. Fox news, as per him, has been known to broadcast news which is often misleading and misguiding.

George Soros also pointed out that recent evidence has suggested that there maybe an outbreak of violence owing to some information broad-casted by Fox news. He therefore decided on funding Media Matters. George Soros further said that he is supporting Media Matters with the aim of widely publicizing the challenge that Fox news poses to civil and informed discourse in their democracy. Glenn Beck was quick to respond on the event on his show.

Glenn Beck has reportedly told his audience that George Soros is unpredictable and dangerous. He said that he is inviting George Soros for a second time, to discuss things face to face. He insisted that George Soros made the donation to Media Matters because of his accusations as well as to negate their previous claims of him supporting Media Matters through other organizations.
