Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav said that Prem Prakash alias Bajrangi is allowed to file his nomination papers for the election through superintendent of the Tihar Jail.
“In my humble opinion, the applicant can forward his nomination papers through the superintendent of jail concerned where he is lodged,” the judge said.
The court asked the director general (prisons) to make necessary arrangements for filing of the inmate’s nomination papers and send these to the appropriate authority in Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh.
Bajrangi, arrested in 2009, is facing charges under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) and other penal provisions.
