Gadkari ‘very happy’ to be BJP chief

New Delhi, Dec 19 (IANS) Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Nitin Gadkari Saturday said he was “very happy” to take charge of the main opposition party nationally.
“I am very happy the party is giving me the highest responsibility,” Gadkari, 52, told reporters as he reached the BJP national headquarters on Ashoka Road here to attend the BJP Parliamentary Board meeting.
“I have come here to accept the responsibility. I will act for the politics of development,” he said.
Outgoing party president Rajnath Singh is expected to formally hand over charge to Gadkari Saturday.
