Full EC to visit Bengal April 28
April 25th, 2011 - 9:00 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, April 25 (IANS) The full bench of the Election Commission will visit West Bengal April 28 to oversee the poll preparedness for the last three phases of the assembly elections, said a senior official Monday.
“Chief Election Commissioner S.Y. Quraishi and the other two Election Commissioners - V.S. Sampath and H.S. Brahma - will arrived here April 28, the day after the third phase of election to be conducted in Kolkata, South 24-Parganas and North 24-Parganas,” said Additional Chief Electoral Officer N.K. Sahana.
“The full bench of the EC will hold meeting with the representatives of the political parties followed by a review meeting with the district magistrates, police superintendents, deputy inspector generals and inspector generals of police and divisional commissioners of the seven districts - Howrah, Hooghly, East Midnapore, Burdwan, West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia, which will go to polls in fourth, fifth and sixth phases of the assembly Polls,” he said.
Later, the EC will hold discussions with the state chief secretary, home secretary, director general of police and Kolkata police commissioner, said Sahana.
They will address media persons before leaving for Delhi April 28 evening, he added.
