Lucknow, Nov 4 (IANS) Accusing Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati of dividing Dalits, the National Dalit Front (NDF) here Tuesday announced it would undertake a state-wide campaign to unite them.”Led by Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan, the newly constituted National Dalit Front (NDF) will launch the campaign in December,” NDF general secretary Udit Raj told reporters.
The policies of the BSP Government are not benefiting the different sub-castes of Dalits equally, he alleged. Raj said the dates for launching the campaign would soon be finalised.
NDF demanded that there should be reservation for Dalits in the private sector.
“Besides the reservation issue, the central and the state governments must ensure that welfare projects meant for Dalits are implemented in right earnest,” said Raj.
Ram Vilas Paswan Monday had announced the formation of NDF ahead of the assembly elections in six states and the Lok Sabha polls early next year.
