Ranchi, Aug 15 (IANS) Jharkhand is working on a four point strategy to fight the Maoist problem, Chief Minister Madhu Koda said here Friday in his Independence Day speech. “The Maoists have become a big problem for the state. We are fighting against the left extremists with a four point strategy,” Koda said while speaking at the Morabadi ground here.
“The four points are security, development, people’s mobilization and political initiative,” Koda said.
He said that the state police have been equipped with the latest weapons and are being trained to tackle the Maoist problem.
“Integrated development of the state is our agenda. We have allocated more money in budget for agriculture and irrigation development,” the chief minister added.
Koda enumerated the achievements of the state government in different sectors in the last two years. “We are implementing integrated farming schemes. We are also constructing hospitals in remote areas,” he said.
Koda also unveiled a plan for tourism development in the state.
