caroline Aug 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The daughter of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was arrested yesterday (Wednesday) on charges of shoplifting after she allegedly was caught by store employees stealing make up from the store shelves.

According to police, twenty year old Caroline Giuliani, who is a student at Harvard University, was placed under arrest after the security cameras at a Sephora store, located at E 86th Street and Lexington Avenue, reportedly caught her shoving about a hundred dollars worth of make up into her jacket pocket.

Caroline was alone in the store, when she was confronted by the store security along with a sale clerk, who then called in the police at around 2 pm. Allegedly, five items were stolen by her.

While waiting for the arrival of police, the store employees were able to discover the identity of Caroline, and decided to give her a break. They refused to press charges, but police still arrested her, and she was led out of the store in handcuffs.

“It was captured on camera,” a police officer stated. “At some point the store indicated they knew who she was and that they were not going to press charges. The DA will decide whether to decline prosecution or not.”

A source with the District Attorney’s Office, Cy Vance said the the office will indeed press charges and she will be required to be in court to face them. Caroline is the youngest of Giuliani’s two kids. Her mother was present at Manhattan’s 19th Precinct, where Caroline was taken for processing. There was no sign of her famous father.
