- Ranchi, Nov 5 (IANS) Hemlal Murmu, a former Lok Sabha MP of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) was arrested Thursday in connection with a 15-year-old case when he went to file his nomination for the coming state assembly polls.
Murmu, who was Lok Sabha MP from Rajmahal seat, was later sent to 14 days judicial custody.
He had gone to file his nomination paper Thursday for the Barheit assembly constituency in Sahebganj district, around 500 km from Ranchi.

Murmu is charged with instigating a mob to thrash a government official in 1994. The warrant was issued after he failed to appear in the court.
He had lost in the April-May general elections.
The Jharkhand assembly polls would be held in five phases from Nov 27 to Dec 18.
