Former guerrilla Mujica wins Uruguayan presidency
November 30th, 2009 - 7:06 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Montevideo, Nov 30 (DPA) Jose Mujica, a former member of the leftist guerrilla group Tupamaros who spent 15 years in prison, apparently won Sunday’s presidential election run-off in Uruguay.
His rival, former president Luis Alberto Lacalle, conceded defeat, with exit polls giving Mujica 51 percent to 44 percent for Lacalle.
