gopSep 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Tuesday night, leaving behind Brian Murphy, the former Governor of Maryland Bob Ehrlich won the Republican nomination for gubernatorial election scheduled to be held this fall. It seems that 52-year-old Bob Ehrlich was undoubtedly the favorite of the Republicans who nominated her with 75 percent votes. The nomination of Bob Ehrlich for the fall election has once again set the stage for a strong competition as he will be facing Democratic incumbent Martin O’Malley once again. Bob Ehrlich was defeated four years ago by Martin O’Malley.

On Tuesday night, with around 76 percent of the precincts reporting, Bob Ehrlich was seen leading with 75 percent of votes while rival Brian Murphy was lingering with 25% votes. Although Brian Murphy was backed by former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, he failed to make a mark in front of the voters who found the former governor of Maryland as a more suitable candidate to return to the office. During the primary election campaign, Brian Murphy tried to mobilize conservative Republican voters against Bob Ehrlich. He criticized the former governor during his campaign by saying that he increased the government’s spending.

However, Bob Ehrlich, a former state legislature and U.S. Representative was able to withstand the negative campaign attempts of Brian Murphy. On his part, Bob Ehrlich mentioned during the campaign that he would try to create new job opportunities in Maryland by lowering taxes which he maintained discourages entrepreneurs from opening up new companies. During his stay in the office, Bob Ehrlich tried his best to raise the minimum wage of the workers and also fought legislation to order large businesses pay health insurance to employees.
