Florida Governor Charlie Crist says he will run for the U.S. Senate as an independent

ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA (BNO NEWS) — Florida Governor Charlie Crist on Thursday announced that he will abandon the Republican Party and run for the U.S. Senate as an independent.
Crist made the announcement at a campaign event in St. Petersburg, where he was greeted by dozens of supporters.
