Washington DC, Feb 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The massive snowstorm has forced the US Federal government to decide to keep its operations suspended for Tuesday as well. The Washington DC region is reeling under the onslaught of a severe snowstorm unprecedented in recent times. According to the weather experts, the existing storm that has wrecked havoc with the public life of the area will be succeeded by a second storm. While it is likely to be less severe, the weather experts are not ruling out chances of damage. The government offices may not open before Friday as it appears. Between Tuesday and Wednesday, 5 to 13 inches of snowfall is likely to be seen.
The essential government employees have been asked to report for work on Tuesday, as per the reports. All other departments will remain closed on Tuesday. The places of tourist interests in Washington will also remain closed and it is a bad news for the tourists. Some tourists who are stuck in the place owing to the inclement weather have already expressed their disappointments. While the cleanup operation is in full swing, the intensity of the snowfall has made things tough for the workers. The residents are trying hard to keep their houses and driveways clean but it is a daunting task. The roads have turned quite slippery, increasing the chances of accidents.
The weather shows no sign of improvement till now and the next few days will not bring any reason for cheer for the residents. However, the children are having a blast as their schools remain closed amidst the blizzard.
