John EdwardsDec 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Four family members of the donor of two time Democratic Presidential candidate John Edwards recently appeared at the Federal Court at Raleigh, in North Carolina. The federal court had asked them to testify in relation to the investigations being made for the John Edwards campaign funds, supported by heiress Rachel “Bunny” Mellon. The members included Rachel “Bunny” Mellon’ son Stacy Lloyd III, his two sons, Stacy Lloyd IV and Thomas Lloyd along with the wife of Thomas Lloyd, Ricki Lloyd.

However, there has been a buzz that the testimony will not be of much help for the proceedings of the case. Although the grand jury proceedings have not been announced publicly with legal executives strictly refusing to say any thing. However speculations are there that it is in relation to the money donated by Rachel “Bunny” Mellon being used to keep the alleged affair between John Edwards and his mistress Rielle Hunter under the wraps. The two time Presidential candidate had a secret affair with his staffer Rielle Hunter. An insider revealed that a good amount of the money was given to the mistress so that she did not leak out the affair in public. However, controversies surrounding this led to the separation of John Edwards and his ex- wife Elizabeth Edwards. Elizabeth Edwards at present is counting the last days of her life battling cancer.

It has been reported that Rachel “Bunny” Mellon made a donation of at least $495,000 to a group that was backing up John Edwards’ campaign. She is also said to have made direct donations to the campaign. However, it has come that the 100 year old heiress was ignorant as to how the money would be used.
