Ex- US President Bill Clinton Wept Over Monica Lewinsky

bill_clinton_and_mo_190963d October 8, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The retired Gen Hugh Shelton recently gave an interview about the final days of Clinton’s Presidency in 2001. The former Joint chief’s chairman Gen. Hugh Shelton described his final meeting with ex US president Bill Clinton, where Clinton had apologized to Shelton. According gen Shelton, Clinton wept over the Monica Lewinsky scandal and expressed his regret .

Clinton had further said that he understood the values, character and truthfulness that the uniformed men and women stood for and he was sorry for not being able to match up to those expectations. In his book the General says that he was awed by Clinton’s honest and heart-felt confession.

With tears streaming down the ex-president had thanked Shelton for his support. Retired Gen Hugh Shelton has dedicated an entire chapter in his book that documents Clinton’s efforts to hunt down Osama Bin Laden. Shelton has devoted an entire chapter to the wag the dog episode. During the incident, the president allegedly ordered a missile strike on Iraq just days before his 1998 impeachment. Critics previously slammed Clinton for fabricating a war to cover up his sex-scandal but according to Shelton the threat was real.

Shelton has not been kind to the Arizona senator John McCain, Shelton said in his book that the senator seemed to have a few screws missing. The general was upset that someone as unstable as McCain could end up with the control over America’s Nuclear arsenal. Gen Shelton’s new book is alls et to dig up old skeletons from the past and become a fodder for controversy.
