mn-mandr03_ph_pe_0502496744Nov 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a dramatic development the voters in USA toppled Nancy Pelosi the House Speaker from power and she is going to pave the way for John Boehner now. Before 4 years she made history after becoming the first female speaker of USA. When the polls had closed in the Midwest and east it was clear that the GOP had a lead over the Democrats. 48 incumbent Democrats were trounced by their GOP opponents a sign that is not healthy for the Obama administration. The GOP needed 39 seats to gain control of the House and they got more than that. The voters fed up with the never ending problem of unemployment and weak economy vented their ire against the ruling party in ballots from Michigan to Florida.

The debacle if the Democrats was accompanied by the fall of Nancy Pelosi who became a favorite target of the Republicans in the last few years. She has not got the support of the voters as it is quite evident from the results. A poll conducted a few weeks back showed that 64 percent of the residents did not like her as the speaker and hardly 29 percent thought of her in a favorable way. However, she used to be on the good book of US president Barack Obama who helped her in clearing some important; legislations despite stiff opposition from the GOP.

Nancy Pelosi was popular with the democrats for her skill in fund raising and her determination to implement the policies despite odds. However, till the last hour she did not deviate from her stand and went on saying that the democrats will emerge the winner at the end.
