Emancipated scavengers visit parliament

New Delhi, Aug 17 (IANS) Some 300 emancipated women scavengers, who used to manually clean human excreta in Alwar and Tonk districts of Rajsthan, Tuesday visited parliament to get a first hand experience of its functioning.
An official said they were special guests of Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, who also interacted with them in her chamber.
