June 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Elizabeth Edwards has revealed that she wants to shed the image of the ‘cuckolded wife’ after finding some inner peace. She said that she was an individual and the media was stereotyping her as the ‘cuckolded wife’ of the Vice President aspirant John Edwards. She also said that she found it impossible to believe that the man who married her could also be attracted to Rielle Hunter.

In an interview she said that she had married a ‘marvelous’ man who she thought had changed over the years. The couple split after John Edwards admitted that he was the father of Rielle Hunter’s child. She added however that she admired a lot of things about John Edwards which included issues that she cared about. About her cancer, she revealed that it is less frightening than it appears because the cancer will not spread in her brain. She said that she wanted to reclaim her life now that she has found within herself. She said that the next time she was on TV, she was hoping that it would be about some policy that she really cares about.

Elizabeth Edwards separated from John Edwards in January after the latter revealed his love child’s paternity. The scandal revealed that John Edwards had an affair with Rielle Hunter during the Presidential campaign in 2008. He had however denied that she was carrying their lovechild. Elizabeth Edwards was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 that re-occurred and spread to other parts of her body in 2007. In an interview she revealed that she had tumors now in her skull, spine and legs.
