Kolkata, July 15 (IANS) Eight Congress legislators of West Bengal were injured when they were allegedly attacked by Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) members in Burdwan district Wednesday, a Congress leader said.
Seven journalists and three policemen were also injured in the attack, said Manas Bhuniya, the legislature party leader.

An eight-member delegation of Congress legislators had visited Dhanyarukhi village, about 150 km from Kolkata, to distribute relief to opposition party workers rendered homeless following clashes with CPI-M cadres.

The area has seen trouble since CPI-M district committee member Falguni Mukherjee was shot dead June 16. The CPI-M alleged the attackers had links with the Trinamool Congress, but the party denied this.
