Egypt’s military council set to ban strikes
February 14th, 2011 - 5:28 pm ICT by IANSCairo, Feb 14 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Egypt’s military council, which took over the country following President Hosni Mubarak’s resignation, is expected to ban strikes, media reported Monday.The council is expected to issue a statement later in the day warning it would act against “chaos and disorder”.
There are reports of ongoing protests and strikes at state controlled enterprises, banks, police and media organisations over wages and working conditions.
The new military leadership dissolved parliament and suspended the constitution Sunday.
