Each Manipur voter to be photographed: Poll panel
January 5th, 2012 - 7:01 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Jan 5 (IANS) In a first such move, the Election Commission has decided to photograph each voter in Manipur to avoid rigging in the assembly elections slated Jan 28, an official said here Thursday.
“ECI has decided to photograph each voter in Manipur to avoid rigging and bogus voting in the elections,” the official said.
“This is the first time that ECI has taken such a step,” the official added.
Counting in the northeastern state will take place March 4.
