Donald Trump releases his birth certificate
March 30th, 2011 - 12:10 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattWashington DC, Mar 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Donald Trump in a bid to prove that he was born in the United States has created more controversy.
The multi-billionaire entrepreneur is aspiring to become the Republican flagbearer in 2012. Based on that and on the fact that he has accused Barack Obama of not showing his birth certificate, Trump released what he said was his birth certificate.
However when the document was closely scrutinized, it was realized that the document was the one released when Trump was born. The apparent mistake got some people mocking Trump for exposing himself. Ben Smith of Politico even went further than that.
He questioned the legitimacy of Trump to become the President of the United States when he wrote, “Trump’s mother, it should be noted, was born in Scotland, which is not part of the United States… This fact pattern — along with the wave of new questions surrounding what he claims is a birth certificate — raises serious doubts about his eligibility to serve as President of the United States.”
Trump holds the view of the so-called “birthers” who question that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States. They maintain the only way the president could prove that he was born in the United States is for him to produce his birth certificate.
