Washington DC, April 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) American real estate billionaire Donald Trump is confident that he enjoys a healthy relationship with “the blacks” and he hope that if he decides to run in 2012, it would help him to wrestle the power from the President.

Trump has announced that he would decide in June whether he is going to enter into the race to get the Republican ticket for 2012. Trump was recently tied with former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney in a Harris poll to determine who should lead the Republicans in 2012.

During an interview with Talk 1300 AM radio in Albany, N.Y., Trump seemed not bothered by the fact that recent polls show Barack Obama enjoys strong support among African Americans. He explained that his relationship with blacks in New York would go a long way to help him deliver victory to the Republicans come 2012.

Recent polls have shown that though Obama’s popularity has gone down among the general population, his support among blacks remain high. Some polls suggest that the president enjoys as much as 80 percent support in the black population. The support of blacks is seen as vital in Obama’s re-election bid.
