DMK to discuss cases against party leaders
September 3rd, 2011 - 10:49 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Sep 3 (IANS) Tamil Nadu’s opposition DMK will hold a meeting of its legal wing Sep 10 to chalk out strategies on the cases being filed by the government against its leaders, the party said Saturday.
The meeting will be held at the party headquarters under the chairmanship of party president and former chief minister M.Karunanidhi.
In a statement issued here, the DMK said the ruling AIADMK was misusing the police force and the meeting was called to discuss ways to put an end to the atrocities and protect democracy.
Many DMK leaders, including former ministers, have been arrested by the state police on charges of land grab ever since AIADMK chief J.Jayalalithaa took over as chief minister.
