Feb 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Eliot Spitzer, the tainted former governor of New York has become a much sober person now as it seems from his recent media interviews. The former New York Governor had to quit his post following charges of prostitution. He did not react strongly when Stephen Colbert took digs at him in “The Colbert Report” aired on Tuesday night. However, no mention was made of the prostitution scandal. The former governor lashed out at the Wall Street bankers and blamed them for the US economic turmoil that took place two years back.

In another recent interview he came out clean on the prostitution scandal. It has been almost two years since he quit his post. He admitted that his irresponsible act had set a bad precedent for US politics and pained his near and dear ones. He also expressed his thanks as his spouse and daughters had forgiven him. He said that people should not stop after making mistakes but try to move on with life. He also said that it is up to the people of the country to forgive him for the misdeeds.

He did not clarify whether he plans to seek the post again. Eliot Spitzer also said that his quitting had made things really tough for David Paterson, his successor. The latter was thrown into a tough environment all of a sudden owing to his unexpected resignation from the post. As a matter of fact, David Paterson is going through the woes of low poll numbers like many other governors of the nation.
