Dikshit to take oath as chief minister WednesdayDecember 16th, 2008 - 9:11 pm ICT by IANS
New Delhi, Dec 16 (IANS) Sheila Dikshit, who steered the Congress to a spectacular hat-trick in assembly elections in Delhi, will be sworn in as chief minister for the third time in a row Wednesday. The 71-year-old and her cabinet ministers will be administered the oath by Lt Governor Tejendera Khanna.
Dikshit became the chief minister first in 1998 and again led the Congress to victory in elections in 2003. Unlike five years ago, she was chosen by legislators as the chief minister unanimously.
The Congress won 43 seats in the 70-member Delhi assembly and the BJP 23. The Bahujan Samaj Party won two seats. One seat each went to the Lok Janshakti Party and an independent.
