New Delhi, Jan 4 (IANS) After Congress leader Digvijay Singh presented records of his conversation with slain Mumbai ATS chief Hemant Karkare, the BJP said they were more concerned about Singh’s statements that “boost the morale of Pakistan”.Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said the Congress party should also serve a privilege notice to Maharashtra Home Minister R.R. Patil, who had said in the state assembly that no records of Singh’s call with Karkare on Nov 26, 2008 existed with the Mumbai Police.

“If Digvijay Singh has a problem, Congress should serve a breach of privilege notice against Patil. The question is not of his call record but his statements that boost the morale of Pakistan,” Prasad said here in response to questions about Singh’s press conference where he gave proof of his conversation with Karkare on Nov 26, 2008.

Patil belongs to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) with which Congress shares power in Maharashtra.

Singh in his press conference at the Constitution Club Monday said Karkare had received threat calls because he implicated some activists of Hindu right-wing groups in the 2008 Malegoan blast. The Congress leader also said that only Pakistan was involved in the 26/11 attack.

Prasad said Karkare’s wife had said she was not aware of her husband’s conversation with Singh.

Prasad said that Digvijay Singh was not a spokesman of the Congress and was not on the the panel declared by the party for participation in debates on news channels.

He said Congress general secretary Janardan Dwivedi, who is in charge of the media, should clarify if the party agrees with Singh’s views.
